What is a blocking
A blocking stops new bookings on selected bays for a set period, without touching your general opening hours. It's handy for maintenance, service, private use, events, or any time you need a bay off the booking grid for a while.
A blocking has these settings:
- Date: The day the blocking applies to.
- Start time and end time: The exact window during the day when the blocking is active.
- Recurring: Repeats the blocking on a chosen interval, useful for weekly maintenance or regular private use.
- Title: A name for the blocking, such as "Maintenance", "Private event", or "Staff training".
- Show title to customers: When on, the title appears in the customer-facing booking grid, so you can explain why the time isn't bookable, for example "Bay closed for service".
- Resources: The bays you want to block.
One thing to keep in mind: a blocking also turns off SimLock for that time, which leaves the bay open to play. That's what makes blockings useful for staff use or recurring group play, but it also means a blocking isn't the way to physically lock a bay.
