How to set when gift cards expire

You can choose how long gift cards stay valid when customers buy them at your venue. This is useful if local rules require gift cards that never expire.

Default expiry for gift cards customers buy

1. Go to Products, then Gift Card.
2. Turn on gift card sales if they are not already on.
3. Under Default gift card expiry, choose one of:
   • 1 year from purchase
   • 2 years from purchase
   • 3 years from purchase
   • Never expires

This setting applies to gift cards customers buy in the booking flow. It only affects new purchases. Existing gift cards keep the expiry they already have.

On the purchase page, customers see Expires with that choice (for example 1 year or Never). The PDF gift card shows a valid-until date, or the text This gift card does not expire when you chose never.

When you assign a gift card yourself

When you assign a gift card under Products, then Gift Card, you can pick a specific expiry date, or turn off Has expiration date so the card never expires. See How to give someone a gift card.
