How SMS access links and codes work for customers

One hour before the booking begins, the customer receives a booking reminder SMS containing a link to open the door. Once the customer’s phone number is verified, no code is needed and unlocking is done with a single button press.

Venues in New Zealand send the reminder by email instead of SMS.

If the booker has not verified their phone number, the door does not open from the link. They are first asked to verify the number: Alba sends a code by SMS, and they enter it on the booking page. After that they can unlock the door.

Venues in New Zealand and Australia skip phone verification, so the link works straight away there.
