How to install SimLock

Installing SimLock is straightforward when following the step-by-step guide. Go to the Settings page in the admin panel and open the SimLock tab. There you will find installation instructions, including how to download and install the SimLock software on each simulator computer.

If the install fails or does nothing

You may see a Windows message saying “Cannot start the application”, or the download finishes and nothing opens. This usually means part of an older SimLock is still running in the background, so Windows cannot replace its files. On the simulator computer:

1. Close any SimLock or installer windows that are open.
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager and go to the Details tab.
3. If you see SimLock.exe or Launcher.exe, select each one and click End task.
4. Download SimLock again from albaplay.com/download and open the new file from your Downloads folder.
5. When SimLock opens, go to Settings, then SimLock in admin and follow the installation guide to activate it for the right simulator.

If you get the same error again

1. Repeat steps 2 and 3 above.
2. Press Win + R, type shell:startup and press Enter.
3. Delete the SimLock shortcut in the folder that opens.
4. Restart the computer, then repeat steps 4 and 5 above.

If it still does not work, click Details on the error message and send us the text (a photo or copy-paste is fine) at help@albaplay.com. The details tell us what is blocking the install.

Installing on a computer that already had SimLock

If SimLock was installed on this computer before, for example when it was moved to another simulator, remove the old installation first. See How to uninstall SimLock.
